**Background and Inspiration**
Q: Can you tell us about your journey as an artist? How did it all begin?
A: I have been writing and singing since I was a little girl. I always knew I wanted to be an artist. My journey began at church singing in the choir. I was also a part of my corral team at school. Music has always been my outlet and my favorite way to express myself.
At the age of sixteen I had the opportunity to tour briefly with Kirk Franklin and the Family and in my early twenties, I had the opportunity to sing with Rick Jame's Band Stone City. I have been singing professionally for a long time now and have learned a lot from working with Legends in the industry.
Q: Who or what has been your biggest inspiration?
A: I am truly inspired by everything, and everyone.
Life is not easy. But I have found that all of the Ups and Downs are stories that make us who we are and I use my own experiences to write most of my songs. While evolving into the Artist I am today I studied a variety of other artists mainly: Baby Face, Mc Hammer, Madonna, Pimp C and 2Pac. I respect each one of these Artist for different reasons but ultimately was inspired by their originality and dedication to their craft.
**Creative Process**
Q: Can you walk us through your creative process?
A: My creative process varies depending on the project, being that I am a hip-hop artist as well as a singer I toggle between genres with very different approaches. I like to start my R&B songs with the Hook 1st That is normally the summary of the song.
Once I have that done, it makes it easier for me to stay on track with the verses. When I'm working on hip-hop projects. I'm having a conversation. I write down my conversation from beginning to end.
And then create my hook around my conversation.
Q: How do you overcome creative blocks or challenges?
A: I must admit I rarely experience “writer's block” in fact it's typically the complete opposite. I normally have too much to talk about and that can sometimes be a challenge. What works for me in either situation is discipline and time management. I schedule writing days and content days. I turn off the world and let the downloads take over and put my phone on do not disturb until I'm done. I believe in seeing things through my conscience won't allow me to enjoy anything until I'm done with what I start.
**Artistic Style and Themes**
Q: How would you describe your style or aesthetic?
A: I like to think my style is Grown and Classy with a pinch of Hood lol. But as I evolve so does my style and sound. Overall, I'm a vintage girl from the country with deep southern roots
Q: Are there recurring themes or messages in your work?
A: Everything about me amplifies Black Excellence and Black Love I love us and I proudly represent for my Black Queens.
