**Background and Inspiration**
1. Can you tell us about your journey as an artist? How did it all begin?
I've always been around music most of my life. I've had a studio (in some form) since I was 16 in my mom house and other studios over the years up to my new studio, I just opened this month. I'm a writer, producer, and engineer. I started out rapping and transitioned over to Southern Soul a little over a year ago.

2. Who or what has been your biggest inspiration?
My biggest inspiration was my mom(r.i.p.) and my Uncle Duck(r.i.p.)

3. Were there any specific experiences that shaped your artistic style or philosophy?
No specific experience. I've always just loved music, especially the behind-the-scenes part like producing, engineering, and mixing.

4. Do you have formal training, or are you self-taught?
I've always wanted to go to a music, but I've been self-taught and still learning every day.

5. Are there any other artists or movements that have influenced your work?
I'm inspired by the older generation of blues music. I also love the new generation, but a lot of my music is purposely geared toward the old style of blues music.

 **Creative Process**
6. How do you approach starting a new piece?
I approach a new piece by going into my studio, lighting some a candle, turning the lights down and just vibe out.

7. Can you walk us through your creative process?
I'll pretty much start off with a melody and build around it with other sounds and then start thinking of lyrics and ideas while I'm still in the process of making the beat.

8. What materials, tools, or techniques do you prefer?
I prefer a recording program called Studio One for all of my recording. I love to use analog preamps and compressors on the way into the computer to make things simpler when it comes to mixing.

9. How do you overcome creative blocks or challenges?
I overcome creative blocks by just simply taking a break away from everything for 1 or 2 days, then return with a fresh head. I've had numerous of songs that turned into something completely different (in a good way) when i went back to it.

10. How do you decide when a piece is finished?
I believe a song is finished when it feels good. A song can sound good but does it "feel" good to my soul.

**Artistic Style and Themes**
11. How would you describe your style or aesthetic?  My still is traditional blues, blues from the 80"s & 70's. I hear a lot of other artists saying those days and that sound is gone. I beg to differ.

12. Are there recurring themes or messages in your work?
Sometimes there is, but I like to tell stories with my music. My first project entitled "Ethel Mae's Grandboy" was completely crafted around different saying I've heard my granny say growing up. lol

13. Do you experiment with different mediums or stick to one? Why?
I do sometimes, but I believe in mastering one thing at a time.

14. How has your style evolved over time?
Most definitely. When I first started doing blues, I was trying to go with the new style that's out now. But I discovered that the people wanted to hear that old blues that told real stories that people can relate to in a real way

15. Do you create with a specific audience in mind, or is it more personal?
I cater to both of those avenues. I just throw it all in the pot. Best believe it's a listener out there that can relate.

 **Inspirations and Influences**
16. What roles do your surroundings or culture play in your art?
My surroundings give me inspiration. My friends and family also give me inspiration. I can write really well from a third person point of view also.
