RUIN

Raw, intense and bangin' is how Ruin of Richmond, VA would like to be acknowledged; ready to show a male-dominated industry that a female emcee deserves respect on the mic. As a veteran in the business Ruin has been grinding it out for years. Now ready to take her rightful place on the thrown as Queen of The South who she was crowned by The Source Magazine.

"Being a female in this game is hard as hell," states Ruin in The Source Magazine, "The Majority of the men don't respect you like they would another man, when you can be just as tight or even better." Noted as a woman who can spit out endless lyrics, Ruin has had her fair taste of the hip-hop industry. Ruin started scribbling in her notepad back in the fifth grade when her elementary school teacher encouraged her and other students to write and recite rap lyrics for the D.A.R.E program. Shortly after creating rhymes for D.A.R.E., Ruin began noticing and kicking it with her uncle of who DJs parties. Before long, her uncle assisted in honing her skills as an emcee and entertainer.

This lady has already topped the music charts. July '05 slated Ruin's rise to success as she entered the top 100 in R&B and Hip-Hop on the Billboard charts, holding the thirty-first spot for hip-hop and R&B. In '09 Ruin continued mainstream success with the hit single "Southside Supastar" feat. lil boosie and '10 with "We Wangin" feat. Oj da Juiceman.

BREAK Magazine out of Atlanta picked up a lead and published a piece about Ruin's music due by means of getting noticed by Nick Love of CTE while performing at an open mic. Bumping into Wendy Day, founder of The Rap Coalition [helped sign Tupac to Death Row Records] and LOD Record Pool Conference sent Ruin straight to SEA Magazine. Currently, Ruin's Southern Smoke: The Southside Supastar hosted by DJ Smallz mixtape is available and received 2000 downloads in its first day on datpiff.com.

Ruin has put together a true street culture album with songs such as "Bodyguard" "What's Up, What it do" feat. Tyra B., and "We Wangin" feat. Oj Da Juiceman.  Be on the look out for Ruin's new LP called "THE MOVEMENT" featuring the hit singles "Southside Supastar" ft. lil boosie and "Ready 2 Party ft. Mc Lyte."
